About us
The RSPCA Solent Branch (known locally as The Stubbington Ark) is the focus for local animal welfare services covering 400 sq.miles including the Portsmouth and Southampton area. The Stubbington Ark provides reception and accommodation for ill-treated, lost or unwanted animals including domestic, wildlife, farm stock and exotics and endeavours to find suitable new homes for as many of these animals as possible.
The RSPCA Solent Branch does not discriminate on species, breed, age or temperament and we do not have a time limit for the animals to be rehomed. On average, we usually have over 500 animals on site at any one time.
The branch has 4 charity shops located in Portsmouth (Fratton), Fareham, Gosport and Petersfield.
We are a separately registered branch of the RSPCA and are self-funded, receiving no financial assistance from the government or lottery funding. We therefore rely on the support and donations from the local community to operate. It costs over £2,500 a day to keep the Stubbington Ark in operation.
